In 2022, Mental health Week in WA will be held between 8-15 October and recognise the theme ‘Where we live. How we live. What we’ve lived.’
This week is celebrated around World Mental Health Day on 10 October.
Discover Dispute Resolution and Mediation walks alongside Mental Health Week in recognising that wellness comes from understanding the Mind, Body and Environment.
After a busy day of community mediation, we find ourselves leaning into a particular practice that focuses on wellness, allowing us to clear our minds, focus on calm and nurture our sense of empathy and connectedness.
Reach Out Australia describes mindfulness as paying attention to the present moment that can help you to cope with everyday life and deal with tough times.
During Mental Health Week, DDRM encourages you to incorporate everyday mindfulness into your regular routine.
- Make a cup of tea
- Move your body
- Grab a snack!
- Focus on your breath
When completing these tasks, bring your attention to the present moment. Through your movements, thoughts and senses.
